Another gunship released droids behind them, catching Thorn's squad in a crossfire. As Thorn and his men rushed toward the entrance of the neutral zone, droid gunships then entered the firefight and blocked Thorn's path in the front and the landing pad behind him, cutting down his troopers and deploying commando and super battle droids. With deadly speed and accuracy, droid bombers shot down the gunships and the Consular-class cruiser, leaving Thorn and his team with no reinforcements. Thorn alerted Senator Amidala of the attack and readied his men for the fight ahead. However, soon after, Thorn and his men saw a Separatist invasion force heading straight toward them. In 20 BBY, Thorn and a group of his Shock Troopers escorted Senator Padmé Amidala to the planet Scipio to negotiate in bringing the Banking Clans to the Republic from the Separatists. " We can't get to you! I suggest you get to a ship as soon as you can!" ―Padmé Amidala is warned by Thorn, only moments prior to the Separatist invasion of Scipio I would recommend the micro-series to any fan of action and science fiction." We're under attack by the Separatist garrison. Myself not being a hardcore Star Wars fan, I found that Star Wars: Clone Wars actually got me more excited about the Star Wars series in general. Anyone who complains about this cartoon is simply ungrateful and impossible to please. What's more, Star Wars: Clone Wars lets fans see some brand new characters that didn't make the cut into the feature films, as well as the first-ever appearance of the main villain for Episode III: General Grievous. It's not meant to be "Episode 2.5," but instead a small treat for the fans to enjoy while waiting until Star Wars Episode III is released in 2005. Yes, this series is all about the action. This style, however, allows for very fluid animation and beautifully rendered battle scenes (on a relatively small budget!). The image of extremely stylized characters may be jarring at first to Star Wars fans who are used to only seeing their favorite characters portrayed in live-action film. The art style is well-known to fans of any of the Cartoon Network series, including Samurai Jack, etc. Star Wars: Clone Wars delivers all of these things in abundance. They wanted to see more of the obscure Jedi. The fans wanted more grand battle scenes. Most fans complained that Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones did not feature enough of the "Clone Wars" mentioned back in Episode IV of the original trilogy. Before cursing this cartoon, however, there are a few things to take into consideration. There's also the odd fact that each episode is merely 3 minutes in length. A lot of people are turned off by the art style and/or lack of in-depth storytelling in the Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series.
